The clamping-belt dual-head tape applicator is a floor-standing inline machine. Parts enter on a belt conveyor, belts on both sides grip them and carry them at a steady speed under two tape heads, and each head presses a strip of tape onto the part as it passes. Taped parts leave the machine over a discharge chute.
Both tape heads are mounted on columns with handwheels, and the handwheels carry position counters, so the height and position of each head can be set, written down and returned to exactly when you change products. The conveyor has adjustable side guides, and the machine is run from a touchscreen with start and emergency-stop buttons.
The machine in the photos was built for one customer's part. Head positions, tape widths and the conveyor are designed around your product — send us samples and we will test the taping free of charge before you decide.
Two heads in line apply two strips of tape to each part, so the part never has to be fed through twice.
Belts on both sides hold the part while the tape is pressed on, so it cannot shift or tip on the conveyor.
Handwheels with position counters on both heads let you note a setting and return to it when the product changes.
Guides along the conveyor are set to the part width and lead each part straight into the clamping belts.
A touchscreen on a post, a start button and an emergency stop; taped parts leave over a discharge chute.
